JAL Launches The World's First Self Driving Wheelchair Service

Local time on July 1, 2020, Tokyo, Japan, JAL launched the world's first automatic wheelchair service at Haneda airport, using the WHILL autopilot system to help the disabled elderly or disabled passengers pass through the boarding gate.

People can operate the system by tapping the touch screen and navigate to the destination gate. When the passenger arrives safely, press again to return to the stop.
